TD Madison and Associates' Training Program Helps Companies Improve Their Hiring Skills
Retained Search Firm Will Train Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce

TD Madison and Associates, one of the nations most respected retained executive search firms, has created a new training module that is designed to improve the hiring skills for companies of all sizes. The module has been embraced by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring a training for Hampton Roads businesses on November 21 at the Chesapeake Conference Center. The module focuses on providing the skills necessary to improve employee turnover by reducing the number of “bad hires” made by companies.

“With over half of new hires lasting less than two years, at an associated cost of $5 trillion annually*, it is no surprise that employee turnover ranks as one the top concerns of chief executives nationwide,” said T. Dean Madison, president of TD Madison and Associates. “Human capital is one of the biggest differentiating factors in the success of a company. Our program significantly reduces employee turnover and allows companies to create a model that will enable them to substantially improve their hiring processes,” Madison said.

The module is one used internally by TD Madison for over 20 years. “There is a tremendous demand for it from our client companies” said Madison. “Companies in every industry experience turnover due to hiring the wrong person for the job. This module teaches hiring managers, directors and senior level executives how to structure an interview to focus on those traits which will create a successful relationship and eliminate the “gut instinct decision” that is typical of the interview process.”

The module is designed to teach hiring authorities how to determine the traits that have proven to be successful in their specific organization and how to craft questions that will better explore how a candidate fits those criteria. The course generally runs from 4-6 hours and is customized to the specific requirements of the organization. It covers all aspects of the hiring process including: hiring preparation, resume evaluation, interview preparation, interviewing, evaluation and synthesizing the offer.
