TD Madison, a leading executive recruitment company for the broadband and telecom industry, will conduct the search for an Executive Consultant that will lead the expansion of broadband/fiber service into rural and unserved areas of New England, for New Hampshire Electric Cooperative’s (NHEC).
Founded in 1939 and headquartered in Plymouth, New Hampshire, NHEC is a for-profit, member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving 85,000 homes and businesses in 115 New Hampshire communities.
NHEC’s primary mission was to provide affordable electric service to the residents of rural New England who were not being served by the for-profit utilities. To meet the evolving needs of their members, NHEC wants to bring them reliable broadband services.
In June 2020, The Board of Directors at NHEC voted unanimously to develop a new broadband subsidiary that will provide their customers access to reliable, high-speed internet. The successful Executive Consultant candidate will play a leading role in the development and strategy for this new entity.
“The entity will be charged with pursuing federal, state, and local funding opportunities, and developing strategic partnerships with the singular goal of bringing high-speed internet access to NHEC’s members,” according to a NHEC press release.
Reporting to the NHEC’s Broadband Committee, the Executive Consultant will work closely with the Board on the initial strategy, funding, design, operations, and construction of a fiber-optic network that will provide coverage for over 80,000 residential and business customers in New England. They will also work with local, state, and federal officials as well as other community stakeholders.
