In 2018, Alaskan communications provider GCI engaged TD Madison to conduct executive search and recruitment for their next Vice President of Wireless Products. GCI is Alaska’s largest communication provider. It owns and operates wired and wireless communications networks across Alaska, offering data, voice, wireless, and managed services to hundreds of thousands of consumers and businesses.
GCI sought an executive with deep expertise in wireless communications technology and a proven track record of leadership excellence. As Vice President of Wireless, the chosen candidate would take the lead on GCI’s wireless strategy, developing innovative new product offerings, cultivating strategic alliances with global partners, and leading the company’s complex wireless product portfolio.
TD Madison identified potential candidates for the role and managed candidate assessment and interviews in collaboration with GCI’s leadership. GCI selected Josh Lonn as the best candidate in a strong field. Previously employed as Senior Director, Alternative Coverage Solutions and Senior Director, Communications Services at T-Mobile, Lonn is a leading expert on wireless communications technologies with a proven ability to develop and implement telecommunications network improvements and build strategic relationships. Josh Lonn was appointed GCI Vice President of Wireless Products in 2018 and remains in that position today.
